Adhesives or clamps. They are holding the diamond not cutting
it. You can hold and cut using a razorblade with your skin which is much

According to the Mohs scale, diamond is the hardest mineral. I
believe that a harder mineral can scratch a softer mineral as well as
itself. So that would work.
